International Rotary Short Story Contest

Submit Your Original Short Story for a Chance to Present at the Stratford Writers Festival. The Rotary Club of Stratford has launched a short story contest and is calling for your submissions of original, unpublished short stories between 1500-2500 words. This contest is open to ANY genre. This contest is FREE to enter.


The Rotary Club of Stratford was chartered on May 30, 1922. Stratford was club number 1197 in the 17-year old Rotary International organization. The Club’s first project was to purchase memberships in the Young Men’s Christian Association for a pair of young, needy brothers. The second was to establish a fund for assisting the poor. The Rotary Club of Stratford will celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2022.


There are two categories in which you can submit your story: Teen (Age 19 and under) and Adult (Age 20 and over).

  • Two Honourable Mentions.

Eligibilities: 


Writers of all citizenships may enter the contest and may submit multiple submissions. Writers under the age of 19 must provide parental or guardian consent.
