The word 'Independence' is related to existence and 16th December is the day we became officially independent and gained our victory against the West Pakistan Army in 1971.
Today is National Victory Day. The 50th Anniversary, the Golden Jubilee of victory earned through sacrifice of enormous bloodshed. The day of emergence of Bangladesh as an independent sovereign state to this world. After a long 9 month of armed struggle, sacrificing a lot of lives and huge bloodshed, valiant Bengalis claimed the victory on this very day.
Every fighter who sacrificed their life for the freedom of the country will forever stay at the heart of the people. Each and every citizens of our country are forever indebted to the supreme sacrifice of every victim of the Liberation war 1971. Rest in peace and thank you for everything, soldiers.
