Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2022-2023 [Fully Funded]

 


The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government and aims to support international students to pursue studies in Hungarian higher education institutions. The scholarship offers a unique opportunity to develop academically and professionally, to build your network in Europe, and to experience Hungarian tradition and creativity. The programme is based on bilateral educational cooperation agreements detailing the eligible fields, levels and types of study.
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is based on bilateral educational agreements between Hungary and the governments of the sending partners. In 2021/2022, the scholarship was available on five continents in almost 80 sending countries and territories. Last year, 10 new partner countries joined the programme: Chile, Costa Rica, Marshall Islands, Ruanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Seychelle Islands, Taiwan, and Uganda, Oman and Sierra Leone.

The Scholarship Programme is becoming more and more popular every year which is especially noticeable from the number of applications. In 2021, more than 49 000 applications were submitted, which is a nearly 39% increase compared to 2020/2021. From the record number of applicants, more than 96% applied for full degree programmes and as the chart shows, most students apply from Asia and Africa.

  • Tuition-free Education: Exclusion from Tuition Fee Payment.
  • Monthly Stipend: Non-Graduate, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree and One-tier Masters Degree Level: Monthly Allocation of HUF 40,460 to living costs, for a total of 12 months each year until completion of studies.
  • Doctoral Level: As per current Hungarian regulations, the regular grant volume is HUF 140,000 for the first stage of education (4 semesters) and HUF 180,000 for the second stage (4 semesters) for the first stage of education (12 months) before completing studies.
  • Accommodation: Residence or a monthly donation of HUF 40,000 to the expense of housing for the full length of the term of the fellowship.
  • Health Benefits Scheme: Medical insurance under the applicable Hungarian law, national medical insurance card and supplemental medical coverage up to HUF 65,000 a year per person.

  • Candidates applying for a bachelor's degree must have a secondary school graduation certificate.
  • Candidates applying for a master's degree should have a bachelor's degree.
  • Candidates applying for doctoral degree should have a master's degree.
  • Candidates applying for a non-degree program or one-tier must have a certificate of student status issued by the sending/home university.

  • The applicants have to apply online on the website of the Tempus Public Foundation.
  • Provide all your detailed personal information (e.g. name, address, date of birth, country, religion etc).
  • Complete all the required fields for each level.
  • The applicants have to submit the application on website and save it.
  • After submitting on the website, applicants also need to apply through the sending partner of the countries they belong to.
  • Applicants are required to accept the statement for application in the online system.
